Ant Protection Program

Most ant infestations originate outside, which is why we use non-repellent treatments. We treat both the inside and outside of the home, ensuring total ant control. The interior of the home will be treated with non-repellent chemicals and baits to stop ants as they attempt to enter your home. Carpenter Ants
The Carpenter ant is most prevalent in wooded areas within Berk, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. Carpenter ants are wood destroying organisms and require similar treatments as other wood destroying species of pests, like termites and carpenter bees.
Unlike termites, Carpenter ants do not eat wood, Carpenter ants only use wood to construct nests. Carpenter ants are typically found within moist wood beams in bathroom walls, under roofing in attic beams and under subfloor insulation. In extreme infestations, Carpenter ants can develop satellite nests infesting buildings at a distance similar to Subterranean termites Pavement Ants
Pavement ants are small, dark brown ants that can sting when threatened. You can tell Pavement ants apart from other ants by the unique ridges or grooves on the head and thorax. Pavement ants enter homes looking for sources of food. They are known to eat many types of food but prefer eating greasy foods typically consumed by humans. Outdoors, Pavement ants pile up the dirt they excavate into little mounds over the cracks they live in. Each spring, Pavement ant colonies spread out to conquer new areas and often attack nearby ant colonies, resulting in hundreds if not thousands of dead ants. New colonies are started by a single winged queen. Indoors, swarming reproductive queens are typically found flying near windows in the late spring and early summer. Odorous House Ants
Odorous House ants get their name from the rotten coconut smell they emit when crushed. Opportunists by nature, these ants nest both indoors and outdoors. Indoor nests are constructed in available cracks and crevices, while outdoor nests are typically shallow tunnels dug under yard debris or rocks. Thanks to their shallow nesting habits, Odorous House ants are known to infest homes during periods of inclement weather. Odorous House ants are relentless foragers, searching for food sources both day and night. Once inside, they typically search for sweets, meats or greasy food, contaminating them as they feed.
Odorous House Ants are easily alarmed and disturbing a nest, using rattle-can pesticides or even crushing an individual may cause the colony to break off and form multiple satellite colonies in a process known as budding. This relocation process sends new nests to different areas in and around the home. These new colonies quickly increase in size and can overwhelm a homeowner or tenant. For this reason, it is critical that a qualified pest control professional be involved to inspect and make the proper pesticide applications.
